Great! Now a simple question to qualify you for your awesome bike:
For how many minutes can you produce 6w/kg????

Those look like 6800 shifters but you have a 6700 crankset. What's going on?
I feel like the rest of the bling on the bike deserves a more blingly groupset like 9000 or 9070.

Good eye- yea, it's Ultegra 6700. This was a Project One my local shop built and was on the showroom floor. I special ordered a Domane that I ended up not liking and long story but I ended up swapping out for this bike. The bike I ordered had the NEW 6800 and I wanted to have the group switched out but the bike shop owner said it would be a PITA and cost me a several hours labor to do so. They gave me an awesome deal on the swap and overall I'm really happy. I did just order a Zipp SL Sprint carbon stem If anyone is interested in the white RXL stem in the photo shoot me a PM.
Question-If I were to splurge on a Dura-Ace 9070 Di2 or SRAM Red 22 full groupo - what would be a good price to have the Ultegra taken off and the full new set put on? Is the labor usually free if I buy the set from an authirized retailer?

It's definitely a 6700 crankset. It seems really odd to spend $7,000 on a bike that has an Ultegra (mechanical) mix.

The going rate at other stores in my area appear to be about $250-$300 for a tear down and new build if you buy the group via the web.

What I wrote above was sticker price and included a bunch of extras ($400 Look titanium pedals+XXX saddle, cages, rokform etc). What I paid for just the Madone 7 was $4800 after tax(MSRP was originally $7k w/Bontrager carbon wheels but I had my own Zipps). The factory Madone 7 series frameset alone cost $4399. It's got the RXL carbon bars + Ultegra 6700 + I LOVE the custom colors-I like having a one-of-a-kind USA built frame rather than a mass-produced Chinese model.

If you're dropping a bunch of money on your dream bike, you might as well get the group-san that you want.
I mean, seriously, you're worried about a couple hours of labor at this point?
FWIW, I have 6700 F & R derailleurs, but they're on an alu bike with 105 brifters.

You upgraded your peds to better stuff Lance/Wiggins/Froume use/used? Cause you would be destroying them on the hill for hours.
Or did Greg Lemonde disclose the next gen peds to you?
Also where in Boston are you climbing hills? I've biked in Boston and never seen a hill that would take more than 10-20 seconds to climb. I don't think Mt. Washington would take hours either. But then that is so steep, if you were riding 6w/k I think your heart would asplode.

Who wants to buy this new Ultegra 6700 group set for $600 shipped priority?
Would you guys go with Dura-Ace 9000 or Ultegra 6870 Di2? I've heard the Ultegra Di2 is just as good as Dura-Ace Di2 if you're okay with the extra 149 grams.

you mean 9000 mech vs 6870 Di2 ? I'd go Di2 because I really like electronic. 9070 though is the shiznits. I got a group off ebay for like 1800 worked like a charm.

I got a US dealer on Ebay with excellent feedback (eurobikeparts) offering me a brand new full group DURA-ACE Di2 9070 for $2500 (without the brakes since the Madone 7 has them built in). He also has full Ultegra 6870 Di2 for $1320 or DURA-ACE 9000 Mechanical for $1300. I think the Di2 will be the best investment if I end up selling this bike in a few years. I'm thinking the 9070 would be sweet on this new ride-already have the 6700 group on Craigslist. If anyone on here is interested, shoot me a PM and I'll give you a deal

I'd go for an out front mount with that Garmin1000... either way it looks like a smartphone on there
