Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Quick thoughts on first modern road bike pickup

I'm a Classic and Vintage junkie, but I'm a bit out of my element in the modern era. I'm looking to pick up my first modern ride since falling for hill climbing in Colorado. Just need confirmation that this deal I walked into is a good one....

For $500....

Felt F55 2008
Dura Ace Shifters / RD / FD
FSA Carbon Compact Crank
Easton wheelset (upgrade from original?)
800-odd miles on it per the bike computer, original owner.

I should be running towards this right?

At 6'2" I like riding vintage 62cm bikes. Is a 63cm going to be wayyy too big?

It is a hair over 35". It will be mostly for endurance and hill rides -- no need for super aggressive position.

Any idea what the effective top-tube lengths are for this era of Felts? I can't seem to quickly find the geometry online unless they've stayed the same since 2008 (https://www.feltbicycles.com/USA/2014...-Bike/f75.aspx)

Yes, quickly get over and check out the fit. Solid deal if it works for you.

Damn. It was the real deal. Super cool seller who is parting with it simply because he simply mountain bikes more. Standover was fine, but even with the seat slammed forward I would've needed a microscopic stem to make the reach workable. Excellent mechanical condition, no issues with the frame etc. And included pedals and shoes. For someone 6'3"+ with a reasonably long torso/arms here it is: Felt F 55 63cm
