You got the jersey after doing fine on the ride. But time has passed and you're less capable. Does it still get worn once in awhile or does it go unused?

Why wouldn't you? If you bought a concert t-shirt would you stop wearing it if the band was no longer on tour?

Talk about a first world problem!
Of course I would. Time and tide don't diminish what was once achieved.

You did the ride and earned the honor of displaying your achievement
Unlike me who just coughed up 10$/jersey at a garage sale to be a poser for rides I never did
(That's not "why" I bought them)

Your question and poll is confusing without the additional information that you provide in your post so I didn't respond to the poll. No, I wouldn't wear a jersey for a ride I didn't do but yes I would wear one for a ride that I did (even if I felt like I could not do it again - that doesn't matter).

You use to crap in your diaper when you were a baby. You don't crap in your pants anymore but you can wear the diaper if you want to. You're going to need it eventually.

So far the answer is a unanimous: Sure, why not? Unless I voted before reading the OP.

Valid point, just wear the stripes on the sleeve cuff, or on your socks.

There's a really hilly ride I've been doing for long time. It has an absolutely outstanding balance of scenery and challenge.
However, I only ride a tiny fraction of what I used to so I'm thinking of doing it one more time and dialing things back to rides that are better suited to my capabilities. As a nod to this transition, I was thinking of pulling out a jersey I was wearing on the day I had the most fun I'd ever had on a bike for a ride that's always been one of my favorites.
Polka dots -- it's an Everest Challenge jersey. Last time I wore it was for a hilly century that I took a 'bent on a couple years ago. That was fun
But I'm tempted to wear it, and consensus is that it's fair game. So if you show up to the Shasta this year and see some guy getting dropped like a rock, that would be me

Do we need to break out the pic of the fat guy in full Lampre kit?
If he doesn't care what he looks like, why should you?

I have a friend that has won several AZ state champion TTs. He never wears the jerseys.
Exactly what jerseys are you talking about?
(Nevermind).
