lol interesting frame problem

so i ordered a new Devinci bike frame from the LBS last week. a 50cm XS frame, just my size. they offered me a great price too for a frame fresh out the factory.

Turns out that the 2011 XS frame was a 40cm frame, and the 2014 XS is 50cm. thats a big difference in size. than.kfully the LBS is going to fix their mistake in the morning.

lol now i'm wondering why would a bike company change their sizing charts like that. oh well.

i'm thinking typo

It could just be a different way of measuring the frame. The seat tube on the ""50cm" bike is an actual 40cm in the geo chart. They could of just changed it to reflect a more standard type of sizing. It's probably the same frame.

How tall are you?

I am 5'4 i measured the seat tube my self and it is indeed a 40cm frame, maybe its a typo, maybe its a different measurement system, i will find out tomorrow.

If you look at the geometry chart for the 50cm frame it list the seat tube as 40cm. It's just a different frame sizing method. It has a 50cm top tube, which might be a little short for you. My wife is just under 5' and rides a 44cm frame with a 50cm top tube.

Which frame are you talking about anyway. I just clicked on a random bike (Silverstone). Some of the other frames have slightly different geometry. Goodluck getting this resolved.

I just found an archived geometry chart for the 2011 bike (Silverstone). The 50cm 2011 is the same exact size as the 2014 40cm frame. Who decided that was the correct size for you? You or the shop?
