Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

$800-1000 Road bike

Planning to buy Flat Bar Road Bike for $800-1000 ASAP.

For some reason, i hate having those Drop Bars. So do you guys know the best Road Bike that comes with Flat Bar instead of Drop Bar?

I live in B.C Canada and it is an Urban Place.

I will usually be riding it everyday to School at 3 miles.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Thank you for that. However, the style is not fit for me. I dont like riding "vintage-like" bikes.

Anyway, im thinking of getting either Specialized or Giant. Unfortunately, i am not sure what model i should be getting.

If you don't like the bars, you can swap them. Or is it the disk brakes that bother you? Specialized offers the Sirrus and Giant has the Escape.

i bought the specialized sirrus sport for my son's birthday last august and he loves it. it's a very good multi-purpose bike. and at $590 it's $200 below your minimum. if you must spend the extra money, upgrade to higher component model.

Specialized Bicycle Components

Disk Brakes doesnt bother me at all, infact i even prefer Disk Brakes especially hydraulic.

I did some research on both of those brands and im choosing between:

Escape RX (2014) | Giant Bicycles | Canada

or

Specialized Bicycle Components

I cant decide which one. There might also be a better choice out there.

I like old fashioned bicycles.

Some people don't like the retro appeal but then I am a retro grouch.
