Anyone ever ride their carbon wheels without a tire? (video)

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know nothing about mountain bikes but are you sure that's a carbon fiber rim? It kind of looks like aluminum to me.

Holy crap... That guy's got some talent, for sure. Either that, or this is the birth of the next big thing in mountain biking: "Going tubeless not enough for you? How about going tireless? It's EXTREME!!!"

You're correct, not sure why the title said carbon wheels.

Interestingly enough, it's not even a rim spec'd for downhill, it's an enduro rim.

Rather impressive that he didn't lose the back end at any point. I wonder how much slower his time was longer than training runs or the other competitors.
My guess would be 15-20 seconds.

I rolled a tubular once, in a hard turn. Went down, popped back up, and would have recovered but the tire prevented the wheel from turning much- went down again on the other side.

So I rode about 20' without a tire.

It was a race - there was a timer overlay in the corner. The video has since been taken down, but if I remember correctly, he was about 39 seconds off the pace of the leader.

Crap. Blocked by UCI copyright. Oh wait. WhyFi already said that. *pffft*

Poorer quality (not a direct recording), but it hasn't been taken down, yet -

Thanks, my off the cuff guesstimate was way off.
