Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On the subject of "41" jerseys: New player in the game - Perofrmance

For those interested in the possibility of a new "41" jersey, let me mention I just learned Performance has a partnership with Champion (?) to provide custom athletic clothing. Apparently it is a full service program including free design service WITH NO MINIMUM QUANTITIES. I can't find any mention of it on the Performance web site, but I picked up a promotional "card" about it last time I was in my local store. I can predict many of you will complain that Performance couldn't match your quality preferences, but I don't know what the capabilities of these Champion people are. I do suspect that Performance pricing will be value oriented at whatever quality level is selected.

Do you mean these guys? They're pretty popular in the custom clothing market.

from How to Order

Five Easy Ordering Steps

1. The Champion System Customer Control Panel allows you to place your order online at any time. Click here to get started on the Customer Control Panel.

2. After you create your account, a minimum deposit of $250 is required to begin the design process. You can either upload your designs directly into the control panel or use our new CS Design Lab to help create your design.

3. About two weeks after you have uploaded your design files you'll receive an email from us to let you know your proofs are ready. Log back into the Customer Control Panel to review the proofs. Let us know what you think of the designs and if you want to make any changes. Only when you are completely satisfied and click to approve your proofs will we begin production. Sit back and relax knowing we are making exactly what you ordered.

4. When you have finished approving all your proofs we are ready to start printing your uniforms. At this time we'll need your final sizes and quantities. Just log in and complete our easy-to-use online order form. When you submit your final order, a 50% deposit is required before we can start production. Don't worry, your online order form automatically tabulates your required deposit (less your initial deposit).

5. Orders are normally shipped 6-8 weeks after proof approval. Need it faster? Click here for CS Express - it's our premium rush service so there is an additional fee.

I also picked up one of these. Not participating in this year's model, but am working on another project with Primal for a friend stricken with cancer. You can look for value, but never discount the value of service. Unless there was mass dissatisfaction with the Primal brand, they are great to work with as I headed up logistics for this project last season.

Just bear it in mind. I don't think minimums are the problem here, it is agreeing on a design.
