Arundel Gecko; love it! Used: Fizik Microtex-loved the feel, but no padding at all Bontrager gel-came stock on two of my bikes. Lizard Skins-not a fan of the feel when sweaty

I like the look and feel of Pro Smart Silicone tape, but it gets filthy almost immediately and doesn't come clean. Switched back to Fizik Microtex. Feels just as good and stays clean. I don't anticipate switching again.

I actually like the Easton tape. Good Price, easy to wrap.

Thanks. Not a bad price either. I do like the smooth, impervious finish of the Fizik and really don't mind the minimal padding. I will look at the Deda though.

I wasn't in love with my cannondale bar tape, but didn't care to change right now either. Went for a ride in the rain this week and changed my mind fast. I could barely keep my hands on the handlebars and staying on the hoods was a joke. Just waaaay too slippery. As of last night, I've got some lizard skins on the way. Can't wait to try it out. I hope they do well wet, because I thoroughly enjoyed riding in the pouring rain. Talk about stress relief!!

Lizard Skins tape is tricky to put on correctly. Keep it tight without stretching when installing. If you stretch it at all, you can tear or separate the inner layers and this leads to the durability issues. I have been told this from a Lizard Skins rep who helpfully installed mine for me. That tape lasted 2 years (maybe 5-6Kmiles?), and only needed replacing when I had to change cables.

For whatever it's worth, I'm large for s cyclist at 6'04" and 210lbs, and I am crash prone -so if a tape has durability issues, I think they'd surface under my heavy XL hands

Fizik microtex. I got it because it is supposed to stay cleaner, longer, and be easier to clean (white tape).

Now I'm in love with the minimal padding for the feedback it gives on the bike.

I use the cheapest cork tape from Performance. I think it's their Forte brand and it works great. It's got good cushion and feel to it for any ride. If it gets damaged it's cheap to fix.

Stock bar tape that comes with the bike is fine with me, or lizard skins.

lots of folks suggesting Deda perforated over Microtex. Anyone know the difference between Deda Mistral perforated and Deda perforated?

For about three weeks. What do you do then, Lizard Skins? Nice if you can afford it.

Nice tape job, btw. I look forward to your feedback.
After a couple of rides on hot humid days...I can report that I really, really this stuff...absorbs zero moisture as far as I can tell...nice cushioning but not too much...the tackiness is spot on. So then, let's see how many miles/rides it can hold up. I replaced some nice treated real leather that looked extra classy but discolored in maybe 1000 miles where it absorbed the most sweat,

We could probably grab a few rolls from the vendor as samples but we hadn't looked at adding any other colours as of yet.

PM me if you are really interested.
