Addiction XXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So the options are, as I see them (wheel is Velocity fusion rim, Velocity race hub, 2/1.8/2 spokes can't remember if DT or Sapim, 24 spoke 2 cross):

1. Just true as a normally would, working in bad area only.
2. Untension all spokes, and bring back up to snuff as I would a new build.
3. Buy cx-ray spokes and replace. Calculators give spoke length of 290.3, so I assume I look for 289 or 290.
4. Assume rim "has issues" and build up American Classics micro, cx-rays, Pacenti rim for ultimate aluminium aero wheel (for a fat guy).

Why say you, Addiction?
I would true and check tension. See how it goes. If it doesn't work out, I skip to step 4.

Patience is a virtue. I ordered a second Ultegra hub with the CORRECT spoke count (32H instead of the 36H) from chainreactioncycles on 28 July. It arrived yesterday. I was about ready to lodged a lost-in-space claim form with CRC, but held off. I figure it hid in Australian Customs for a couple of weeks, and then in an Australia Post warehouse for another week.

With the house move, I won't be building up the three wheels that are awaiting right now, until next month. Even then, it might be not until October -- we leave for North America on the 12th or something like that.

I also have to find a new use for the 36H hub. I can't recall if I have a spare rim with that spoke count in storage. Hmmmmm...

Not the fight song, but a state song, played at sporting events.

As a tall person I fully support the Knee Defender device and throw the weight of my office behind the defense of its user.

To receive that weight, does he need to submit his own self-addressed, stamped envelope? I have heard that Daphne, your hot secretary, does not lick.

Although surely tempted to follow you down that dark, dark road, it's probably best if I exercise my seldom used discretion and take the high road.

See, on rare occasion I can sometimes pass a wide open door that is trying it's best to pull me in.

I'm tall as well, but I do not think that entitles me to more space than someone sitting behind or in front of me. The same debate can be had about wide people... at what point should a wide person be asked to purchase two seats?

IMO the root of the problem is with the airlines scrunching seats closer and closer together. It's the sort of thing that could use a bit of review/regulation, and I am mostly against regulation.

But this very interesting spinal fluid cytology, two dividing white blood cells in one microscopic field. It's rare to catch dividing cells in action, it typically means the cells are cancerous. There are normally very few cells in spinal fluid, so catching two abnormal cells like this is rare.

My wife and I went to 'If I Stay' last night. It brought her to tears 6 times. I'm not sure which of you two had the more emotional day...

Still, I am able to truthfully state on the record here that I've never had a woman throw her drink on me.

I guess I need to buy a knee defender, before they are outlawed and only outlaws have them.

Now that's just shocking and hard to believe. Say it isn't so, 3a.

I think I could break the knee defender and smash the offenders knees at the same time.

It's plastic. #steelisreal
