Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ordering new bike

I'm pulling the trigger and ordering a Specialized Secteur next week. I have my choice between a 2014 Secteur Sport Disc and a 2015 Secteur Sport Double. I've looked high and low for a LBS to have the 2014 to test ride but haven't found it anywhere so I'm basing my purchase on a lot of reading I've done. It's important to note that this is my first road bike, I'm 43 years old and I plan on riding in group rides.

There are several differences between the two bikes:

2014 has disc brakes
2015 has caliper brakes

2014 has a 700x30c tires
2015 has 700x25c tires
I know that the 700x30c will give me a more comfortable ride but they are heavier and less aerodynamic.

2014 comes with FSA Tempo Crankset
2015 comes with a Sora Crankset

2014 doesn't Zertz inserts in the seat stays
2015 has Zertz inserts in the seat stays

Thanks for your help and I look forward to your feedback.
