More drama in the coke thread. Hmm....

When I bought and first rode a set of Challenge Criterium open tubulars (aka fancy clinchers) I thought I was on to something. They ride better and feel more awesome than any clincher I've ridden.

A team mate had a sidewall blowout while inflating one and another had a rash of flats... now I had a sidewall blow out while riding on a clear smooth shoulder. I'm dumping my remaining inventory of 2 new in the box.

Just back from a movie and dinner date. We saw "Magic in the Moonlight." I thought it was pretty good, my wife found it boring. Followed by Japanese food. We both agreed that dinner was good.

I've been riding Veloflex "open tubulars" for years with no sidewall issues. You might want to try them.

Edit: Looks like the Veloflex are a lot cheaper, too.

There was a great deal of tasty chrome on display at the BMX show.

Nice one @rjones28! I think I'm about due to watch all of Peep Show again. I don't think the little lady has seen 'em.

Maybe it was really Cervélo Man. That guy seems to get around.

Younger and not as fat as CM, the original.

I had a bottle of water, for emergencies. I did not need it.

See, water is a good recovery drink when you're on the go.

I'm sorry @Makel. I have a feeling that's going to be a common occurrence. Make sure Mr. Makel doesn't keep doing that though, as we wouldn't want his face to stick that way.

I think it's important to note that the QB didn't throw an interception and they actually made a TD in the 2nd half. I wish they had rid themselves of the kicker though. I feel like he made to many errors last season. I think they will improve as the season goes on, even though they do have what seems to be the hardest schedule this year.

Yeah, the Raiders lost. He's disappointed, but we will still watch every game and cheer them on.

His Fantasy Football is looking good so far for this week, so not all bad news.

Are you and/or @RUOkie going to the big game?

Apple-Cinnamon Skratch is very good. They recommend warm, but it's also delicious cold.

Me too.

However that not drinking thing is crazy talk.

Peppers are dry. Grinding to commence later this week. Peaches are in the dehydrator now. This is the last of the Oklahoma peaches since the late producing trees had their buds freeze before the fruit set, so the April frost we had killed the crop. But they are tasty. Glad I got 5 hours of riding in this weekend cause the week is gonna be busy. And next weekend I can't ride. Having some minor surgery on Friday and am forbidden from riding for a week. :(

I was offered a ticket, but can't. (see above post)

LAJ 09-07-14 07:57 PM

I hope everything is OK, RUOkie. I didn't meant to hammer you the week before your scheduled appointment.

No worries at all, I'm fine. this is just an elective thing that necessitates no cycling for a week. I ended up with 3 one gallon Ziplocks filled with dried peppers.

I just read the entire Coke thread. I enjoyed the RPP trolling, and got one video out of it that was fantastic. 5 star thread

Reschedule so you don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

That Hutch (behind the Kuwahara), on the other hand, was so stratospherically cool that I couldn't even fantasize about it. I did lust after a Kuwahara, too, but I want to say that it was a freestyle model in green...

...bummer. So much for that 320tpi carcass. I went through a couple of Specialized Pro's a while back with the same mysterious
sort of fabric layer tear that let's you ride along for a while going kathumpa, kathumpa, kathumpa and then pops.

I think maybe some tires just don't get made right and there's not much QC these days. Fortunately, I can blame Sinyard.

What the hell does that even mean? Unless you really wanted to say "sandwich" and were showing restraint. Is that it?

It's even in that Weird Al song "Word Crimes". I sometimes use it as my alarm in the am.

I went for a ride last weekend with a local club. It was only the second time riding with them, so I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to keep up. As I was getting ready at home, I realized that I had a hole in my bibs from where my leg had been rubbing on my MTB tool bag. Hey, I used it because I owned it. Anyway, I grabbed a spare set of shorts (Canari's from 1994 with a REAL chamois!). I threw those in my pocket just in case the draft grew.

Sometime this week, I wanted to go for a morning ride. Pulled out my other pair of bibs. As I pulled them on, they ripped the seam right up the middle in front. Uh, yah, that's not going to work. Yup, back to the 1994 Canari's.

Today, I went for a ride with the same club. My ONLY choice at this point is my Canari's. Got about 12 miles in out of 40, temps in the high 80's and realized that these shorts just weren't cutting it. They're extremely uncomfortable. I parted ways with the group and headed home. As soon as I got home, my wife very calmly said "Nice hole in your shorts!" Ugh! That's all of my shorts - gone in one week.

I ordered a new pair of Castelli's last week. They're somewhere on a big boat on the Atlantic right now. Hope the boat is fast!

...I could care less. I'm a heart on your sleeve kinda guy. #giver
