BMW everytime....

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A Day In The Life Of A BMW Driver

The other day I was cruising along as usual coming onto one of my interstates, which was very busy with inferior cars.

First off, I couldn’t believe that the volume of traffic DIDN’T slow down for me AT ALL as I came off the entrance ramp! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway!

The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.

Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW lane.

Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110 mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 70 mph!

Naturally, I got within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn’t be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.

Of course, once he realised it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me!

He also tried to keep up with me and when he realised I would out-run him, he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car.

Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew – that my car goes fast!

Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to take my drivers licence to a police station to be sent away to have some points put on! (They’re not free points either – they’re £20 each and I was only allowed 3.) But the man at the police station said that because I drive a BMW, it won’t be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I won’t even NEED a driving licence, so they will take it off me!

See, now THAT’S the sort of respect you get when you own and drive a BMW!
Just freakin hilarious!

Yep def agree OP, I had a close call with one at like 60 mph. He saw me but just decided to be an ******* and fly right by me, couple of inches from me because I was semi in his way (I stayed to my right).

Hey I drive a BMW. I even haul my bike in it. I am most courteous to all bikers even
people who ride recumbents.

As to cars not made by the Bavarian Motor Works...........Screw them!

Just kidding, but I do love my BMW 128i.

I've been hit by automobiles twice, but two completely opposite vehicles: Mini Coupe & old Chevy pickup. The Chevy said sorry on-site, and Mini tried telling the insurance company that it was my fault. That statement wasn't hard to argue against because I was making a left turn, and she hit my left hand. (I hadn't started turning and she was going so fast she didn't stay on her side of the road.)

But do you have the requisite shopping cart spoiler to extract maximum low speed performance from your hotted up honda civic?

Well do you?

How in God's name do you fit a bicycle IN a 128i? It doesn't count because it's not a real BMW, but it does look like one and really wants to be one when it grows up.

Wow that was cruel, funny yes, but still cruel.

To answer your question the bike fits into the back due to stellar German engineering. This creates the perfect environment for my bike equipped with a groupo made by Italian artisans .

All kidding aside my bike fits perfectly in the back with the front wheel taken off. The back seat is folded down of course. Then again the back seat is useless anyway. It is a snug fit. I am 5'10" tall. If I was 6'0" tall I would probably have to lower the seat each time. I pretty much leave my bike in their 100% of the time during warm weather. It makes riding always convenient and lets me start where I want.

Regarding the size of the car I like it a lot. It is more like a classic 3-series size. It also does not have all of the gadgetry of the more expensive BMW's. It is austere and very functional. It has a 6 speed manual transmission and 240hp. It does not weigh near as much as the bigger BMW's and is very fun to drive. It is my favorite car I have ever owned.

The base of the problem lies in the clinch the deal BMW sales pitch.

The inform the potential customer that a BMW title serves as a deed to a highway lane.

Your are trespassing on their road.

White pickup trucks and extended cab pickups, SUVs and muscle cars are worse. Mostly though it's older, white men who yell at me and younger men (also usually white) who toss things at me. I drive a BMW, have driven one for years and love it and know many other BMW drivers. We are not all a$$holes.
