I still have my original Allez from 1981-1982. I would love to have another, newer one, however I really don't know if I would pay what they are asking for on an anniversary model.

I suppose... I've only ever bought one 'reissue'...the merckx super corsa team 711. That was limited to 100 (I think) and sold for $2000 new. I think I paid around 750 nos.

I have to admit that if I were a Lotto winner, I'd definitely be a sucker for this!! (Though I'd be a sucker for a lot of stuff I shouldn't have & probably wouldn't have a wife cuz I'd have crap like this hanging on walls all over my house)

Big jump from the Steel Double for $700, they were of lowly 520 tubes, though. You reckon they discontinued them 3 years ago so people wouldn't compare the prices of those directly to these???

I would have to consider it just a $4000 donation. The sloping TT and plain paint make it look like some variation on a Soma.

I'd take a new custom geometry Waterford 22-Series Artisan stainless steel frame for $3300 instead.

If it were a complete bike at that price with a dura-ace groupset, I would buy one.
I love steel bikes. But $4000 for a non-custom steel frame is a bit much.
