Tire choice on Bianchi

I got my wife a used Bianchi Giro. It's been well cared for and in great shape. My wife (and I) are new to cycling. We are enjoying and have been going on three or four 15-20 mile rides a week. One of the tires has a small cut in it that looks unsafe. I'm going to replace both tires and want to know how the width of tires affect the ride. It came with 700X23C tires but I'm wondering if 700X25C would be more comfortable for the type of riding we do.

There are those here who will swear that the larger tire will provide noticeable improvement in comfort. Then there are those (like me) who've tried 25's and found no difference in comfort or handling.
Try the 25's to see if she likes them over the 23's. They're only tires, you'll have to replace them in a year or two anyway.
BTW, I like the Bianchi.

I've used 700x25 Vittoria Rubino Pros and 700x23 Vittoria Open Corsa SL and this is what I've found. The 700x25s were more comfortable. Bear in mind I was using 110 PSI in the front and 120 PSI in the rear. The 700x23s have 120 PSI in front and 130 PSI in the rear. I believe the Rubinos are 220 TPI and the Corsas are 330 TPI. IMO the Corsas are more harsh but roll much more easily. Hope this offers something helpful to your data bank.

I've been riding the Michelin Pro4 Endurance in a 23mm and find the ride very nice, comfortable and grippy.
They are not a very expensive tire either.

Thank you. Your responses have prompted me to do a little research to understand tires more (had no idea how TPI affected ride). So now I can make a more informed choice. I'm leaning towards a 25 mm tire.

Absolutely love my vredestein tricomp. They're on my Infinito. Would replace them with the same ones in a heart beat.
