Carbon life frames

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Carbon life frames

Carbon components need replacing at 3 years - 9,300 miles? Canyon Bicycle Manual Road Bike 2014 p16/58. Does not list cosseted frames. I am trying for n=1 so looks like Ultegra + Al frame + 100kg wheels is the n=1, m<10kg, 800<GBP<1500 solution for me "next" year. OK won't be throwing away the 150 GBP starter bike, at a tenth of my budget top line, so n=2.

Their bike owners manual does specify this for some of the carbon components (stem, handlebars, seatpost), but not the frame:

Probably a suggestion by their legal advisers to limit liability.

Thanks, for a moment I thought my mind was made up. I can keep drooling at C + 105 11s but Al + Ultegra looks upgrade proof.

And I guess that's me done at post #2 .
