Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I used the Rokform mount for a while but had issues with fluids hitting it (sweat, poorly-aimed spit and unexpected rain). Got the Wahoo RFLKT+ & now everyone is happy.

I've been meaning to search for a thread of this topic. Awesome. I'm searching for something where I can type short texts with my right thumb, with fingers still on top of bar (Nitto Noodle 48cm drop bar).

I'm usually against extended warranties or protection plans, but for hazardous duty like this it might be worth getting one from your carrier. e.g. For a Galaxy S5 from ATT it's $7/mo.

I use an inexpensive mount with a clear cover from Scosche. It is only available at Target but for $25, it does well and worked even in steady rain.

Hi FLCYCLIST,

Yes, there are. Like another responder, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II (a very large smartphone) and I wanted a safe mount for it. I chose the "pro" waterproof mount by BuyBits that is sold on Amazon. I've used it for over a year (over 3,000 miles) and it has held up very well. I just purchased a second for another bike and plan to purchase a third for my wife's bike (she has a Note II, also).

BuyBits also has similar mounts for other smartphone models.

The clear face of the case is large enough to show the entire screen and it is touch-screen sensitive so you can still control your phone while its in the case (this is very important for starting and stopping my fitness tracking app, Endomondo). And the thickness of the case and the padding in the bottom of it allows my phone to fit even with the double-size 6200 mAh battery and extended rear case that I normally use.

Highly recommended.

Kind regards, RoadLight

i use the Quad Lock with my Samsung Galaxy S4 and it works great for me. i can't use the Topeak RideCase cause i have a compression plug, otherwise i would have at least tried it, but the Quad Lock works great for me and it's out of the way of my legs when i'm out of the saddle...

Try the Tackform Freedom. I like it a lot. You can customize the grip tension on the phone and i has this silicone safety sling that comes around the back of the phone and grabs the corners for added security.. Works with any phone, with any case.. Pretty slick for a low cost solution..

^this.

I've used them for several years. Outstanding product. You can use their case or get your own case and put their stick on mount piece on that case. I use theirs but have used an Otter case with the mount on the back too.

I plan on buying a Quadlock for my S5 Active, I think it may need a little relieving due to the differences of a S5 vs S5 Active button layout.

Just get whatever case you want and universal mount on the back.

I sent an Email to Annex asking if a S 5 Active case may be in the works,
If not I will buy a good case and bond the Quadlock socket onto it.

Toss it in the back pocket of the Jersey and look at it when your done. Placed in a zip lock sandwich baggie and it stays dry as well even in a rain storm.

How do you like the quad lock? I have one for my galaxy s4 and it is fantastic. I have no doubts that my phone will ever fall out and it will last a long time.

Well I will let you know tomorrow, I am swapping phones with the Bride (she has a S5, and will take over my 5 active) I like the design seems very secure so far.

As for the jersey pocket it is what I do now, but with the Doutrap I want to see Cadence and speed real time
