Trek Emonda Pictures. Let's See Them!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I previously had a 2005 Jamis Xenith Team, which I loved. It had Dura-Ace 7800 and I was in the process of upgrading the components to DA 7900. When I took the front derailleur off I noticed there was a crack in the hanger. I consulted the LBS who said they could replace the part if I could find it, but it would be iffy in that there is a chance that in addition to the hanger being riveted it may also be glued underneath. If that was the case it would wreck the tube upon removal.

In any event I couldn't source the part. I searched the interwebs and contacted Jamis multiple times, who eventually stopped replying. So for want of a 10 cent piece of metal I purchase a new Emonda frame (I wanted a warranty in case something like that happened again). Darn the luck.

So it mostly has DA 7900 components except for the brakes which are still 7800. The stem is an Easton EC70 90mm with Easton EC70 SL handlbars. I've only ridden if for about a month, on and off the trainer and in the rain and I love it so far. I can't definitively say whether or not it's head and shoulders above the Jamis because I'm no pro and it'd prob be just the money spent talking.

Also during the upgrade process I noticed the brake tracks on my DA 7900 C24 wheels were getting iffy... so I sourced a set of used Aeolus 3s.

Sorry for the naked pic links, I don't have 10 posts yet so I can't post proper image links.

Welcome and congrats on the bike!

Anyone running 700x28 GP4000S II's on their Ultegra equipped Emonda? I have the 700x25's on Metron 40's but I'm wondering how much clearance, if any, I'd have with the 28's, or if I'd have to deflate to clear the brake pads.

Hey, I have a question for you Emonda owners that have Bontrager Race Lite (RL) wheelsets - what are your opinions? I'd been looking for a wider rim and these seem to fit the bill perfectly... 23mm external, relatively light, and they were cheap (Craigslist, barely used).

I plan to match them up with Veloflex Master 25 tires and tubes - would it be best to remove the tubeless rim strips and use tape instead? I have no plans to run them tubeless. Also, I'm assuming a spacer is required to run a SRAM 10 speed cassette on these hubs - anyone know what width spacer is required>?

If anyone is in the market and in the Palm Springs area, Palm Springs Cyclery has an increadible deal on a 56 and 58 cm SL6 pro for 2600. I was thinking about getting one for myself but got another Felt instead.

My issue has nothing to do with the wheels, but glad to hear that you figured it out!

I love it when a bike gets set up where the lower portion of the drops flows right into the top tube. Makes for a great looking and comfortable riding bike.

Got my Emonda ALR4 back at the beginning of the year. Here are some pictures I've taken while out on my rides.

Taken in Tempe, some of you might know where this is.

I toured across Japan on 28s with ultegra 6700 calipers, with 2014 Easton EA90 Sls on an Emonda ALR. Just enough clearance and no issues.

I see the white Segafredo paint scheme is now available on the Project One website -- at a $500 premium over the red Segafredo scheme. Coincidence?

Odd that the red is no increase and the white is $500.

Trek will have to sell a whole lot of the white ones yo payback the cost of sponsoring the team.

Gotta love capitalism.

My Emonda S just upgraded from Tiagra to Ultegra, and Fulcrum 5 wheels. Feels like a new bike

Here it is the day I picked it up 2 years ago

Sold my SL6 and upgraded to an SLR. I bought a used frameset, and built it up with new DA 9100 and some used parts. 15.9 lbs as pictured.
