Anyone have any experiences with Torelli? Im looking at a Torelli titanium bike, as an N+1. Any thoughts or things to look for?

Great people, great bikes, fair prices. My 2010 carbon Montefalco is as good a bike as I've ever ridden.

A riding buddy had a steel Torelli Countach in the 90's. I'm still in love with it.

+1 I have a late 80's Mondonico built Countach, it is a sweet ride.

I didn't realize they made Titanium bikes. More well known for steel.

To me Torelli=steel. But, that's just me.

They've got some pretty sporty geo on most of the bikes; I'd expect one to ride with character. I don't recall ever having seen one on the road.

I don't have the Titanio -- I have a (steel) Countach. Classic, old school geometry that makes for very predictable handling, very comfortable. Not aggressive position, not new-fangled aero. Think what a classic racing bike from Rivendell would look like. That's Torelli.

...AFAIK, Torelli has always been a US import house, contracting their manufacturing to various Italian builders when I knew of them.

I have absolutely no clue as to whether the current stuff is from the same folks, or whether the name got sold. The older steel ones
were very competitively priced for what you got. I think there might be a Super Strada out in the garage, still.

Torelli's website hasn't been updated in about five years, but when I called last year about a derailleur hanger, the current owner answered the phone and was pleased to talk about his bikes. Their original owner, "Chairman Bill" was still involved on an "emeritus" basis. For several years they attempted to build a carbon business based on a similar model to their steel business with small Taiwanese builders instead of small Italian builders. As nice as the frames were, it was just not a market where they could compete so they decided to stick with their niche in steel.

I have one of their stems on my Seven. Nice alloy part. Easily gotten by my LBS.
