Help me decide on my friends bike.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Help me decide on my friends bike.

I am helping my friend decide between a Giant Propel advanced Sl, s-works tarmac, Cervelo S5, Cannondale Supersix evo, and Pinarello Dogma 65.1. He is a road racer geared towards climbing. Valuing stiffness, climbing comfort, descending precision, and lightness. Looking for opinions on the above bikes.

Thanks

I am a huge Cervelo guy, as I ride an R3 and love it. But that being said, I wouldn't go with an S5. Its an aero frame, and that always felt a bit heavy and "pig like" to me when climbing. Too bulky to climb efficiently with and certainly not the lightest. I would recomend an R5 instead, which is the lightweight frame and a great one at that. My ranking would be:
Cervelo R5 (If its an option)
SWorks Tarmac
Cannondale

Never been a fan of Giant, and although I love the way Pinarellos look, you pay a lot more, but don't get that much more in terms of bang for your buck. They are pretty, sure, but not worth the pricetag IMO. Good luck

Yeah I said the R5 would probably be better but he liked the S5. Thanks

The S3 is supposedly better in pretty much every way compared to the S5. Plus it's just WAY sexier. I think he would like the Dogma the most though.

This is not climbing, but acceleration testing. Just One Metre - Cervélo
Get the S5 (aero), and drop 200g.
