I've found the perfect underwear to wear under your shorts.

No fabric under your butt and extra support for the junk. Perfect right?
(You have no idea how hard it was to find a picture of that without being way too inappropriate.)

Wow... four pages of this? Winter must really be here. Now, I ain't no expert and I've only been seriously riding for a year, but it seems insane to me to spend good money on a pair of bib-shorts ( the entire point of which is to replace your underwear and facilitate comfort on a bicycle ), only to have underwear underneath. I suppose we should thank our lucky stars, the OP is not talking about silk boxers. But hey, to each its own.

Or maybe somehow his underwear is more hygienic than spandex on his balls. Laundry and showers aren't enough for his balls.

He's more concerned about hygiene. Which is still absurd. It's lycra/spandex. Maybe he's weirded out about the chamoise soaking up his butt sweat. But it's absurd when his underwear is soaking up butt sweat too. Maybe he's afraid his butt sweat will get on his saddle? I don't think he's thinking about comfort etc. Butt sweat.

Plus, there's always soap and water after a bike ride.

I have been reflecting on this thread. Generally I am a live and let live kind of guy. I made an attempt at humor with a post about panty lines and +1ed a post about not wearing cotton. But after 87 posts, I am stunned that there is actually some support for the underpants (he he, pun). The answer to the original question is NO, just NO. You can't put ketchup on hotdogs and you can't wear underpants with bib shorts.

I always put ketchup on my hotdogs. Sometimes I'll put mustard, onions and relish on it. But most times, I remember it's a hotdog and put some ketchup on it because, it's a hotdog.
Actually, I only know one person who doesn't put ketchup on a hotdog, eats it plain.

I don't know anyone over the age of 11 who puts ketchup on a hot dog.

There are 2 ways to look at this: You can look at it as a matter of preference, which in that case whatever you want, works. But just realize that you're defeating the purpose of a chamois in shorts if you do wear underwear because the cotton won't absorb sweat like a chamois. Given that, a big reason for wearing cycling shorts in the first place goes away.
