RIP Steve Hed

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hed collapsed outside one of the HED facilities, the company he founded, last Thursday. CPR was administered on the scene and as he was rushed to the hospital. He was removed from life-support on Tuesday night and passed away Wednesday morning.

Leave it to Jim Felt to pretensiously include his character judgement skills in his condolences.

That really sucks. I hope I also leave the living in a similar (quick) manner.
He will be missed and remembered.

A shame, I didn't know much about him when I first dealt with HED to get my wheels...Every person I ever spoke with on the phone at HED has been very cool and that says a lot about a business person. The more I read the more I realized this guy is an American Cycling Icon... a real loss. Tragic he went so soon.
