Issue with comfort on longer rides
Does anybody else have the urge to pee a lot when the weather is colder? I can't tell if it's because of the weather, or if it's because I have a less than stellar Nashbar saddle and Nashbar pants/chamois. It seems that every 45 minutes or so I have the need to go again. Looking for a new saddle and tights, but don't know which one is more important at the moment.

My experience is that I do have to pee more in the cold. There is no data or reason to back this up other than I don't think I sweat as much and have more pee. LOL
As for saddle and pants, get a good saddle. You don't need good pants if you have a good saddle.

Get the shorts with the built in catheter and extended drain tube. Just don't be the person behind a cyclist that has one.

A friend of a friend who does ultra distances (300+ mile races) has this catheter contraption with a discharge tube that goes down his leg under his shorts, down the seat tube, across the chain stay, and drains right into the road.

About a month ago during a century ride I saw a guy taking a piss while riding at speed. He moved to the left edge of the road, slowed just a bit and took a whiz. First time seeing that.

I remember a story about Lemond, I believe, who blew diarrhea out of his butt into and out of his shorts while racing. Said it was spraying everywhere.

I think you guys have surely convinced me that the long races/rides are not going to be in my future.

so he could Pee on Art Modell's Grave, Posthumous Diss .. for Moving the team to Baltimore ,
but the team name was to stay in Cleveland.

It was his first Tour. He didn't win - he got 3rd overall. Apparently it was running down his shorts.

For example, the first year I won the Tour de France, I had diarrhea on one stage, and when they interviewed me afterwards I said; “I had the ****s” on TV.

Just a thought... If you're drinking the same when it's cold as when it's hot then you're going to have to urinate more often since you're not sweating as much.

Also happened to Tom Boonen. Bet the mechanic was not too happy.
