There aren't many Italian-branded bikes that are actually made in Italy any more. Colnago, Pinarello, Cinelli, Bottecchia etc are mostly made in Asia. Today Bianchi is just a brand name owned by a conglomerate. Same with the remaining parts suppliers still in business.

Sad but true. From what i know only the Colnago C60 and the Copollini top of the line are made in Italy. I'm sure there are others, i just dont know which ones.

It was just the frame, though. The wheels were put together in New Jersey, and all the components were installed in NYC.
Photos from yesterday were posted here: https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...something.html

Actually from what I understand, the carbon tubes for the C60 are made in Taiwan, and it is "assembled" in Italy.

Beauty kbarch, but I'm guessing it's a custom steel. There are no doubt many small shops making customs in Italy just like the USA, but as for state-of-the-art cf and aluminum by the famous Italian names,...their bikes are mostly Asian. One has to admit that there is probably no "special knowledge" about bike making in the West that is unknown in the East.

Casati may not be 'cutting edge,' but they do make both up-to-date and classic bikes (made-to-measure and production carbon frames as well as m-t-m and standard sized handmade steel frames), and have a definite lineup which they'll customize the finish on if you want. Judging from their list of rivenditori, their biggest market seems to be Germany, but indeed they are small, and they have no retail partner in the US.

Just acquired last fall, needs some work (like that grip tape is just WRONG). This is the classic story about a gem left in storage for years and ended up a gift to me, because I was the helpful neighbor. I am VERY excited to get new tires, brakes, pedals, saddle and of course tape. This is gonna look good and fly!

Seriously, though, dark red or reddish brown (leather?) would look awesome. Of course the safe route would be natural cork, saddle leather color or gold.
