Roadies: What is your day job?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Roadies: What is your day job?

I think there was a thread about this somewhere else (Maybe in C&V?) but I was always curious on what occupations road biking guys/gals (or at least on here) are in. Somewhat of a small sample size, but registering to a website about bikes probably means you are somewhat interested in bikes.

In my town at least, you can tell the big honchos on their 15 grand bike is probably not working at Taco Bell. Of course you can buy a road bike very cheaply all the way to the more luxurious/ high performance bikes but I guess this is just a thread to maybe discuss what your occupation is and perhaps see what others do? (If anyone is curious about that). It's probably a misconception that a lot of the guys on the $2000+ bikes are some hedgefund currency exchange trading moguls but (I've seen Pinarellos on the back of a 1990's Camry). It'd be neat because one can see bikes as a high end hobby or just a way to get around for free.

So what is your job (s)?

If this should belong somewhere else, someone please move it. Thanks.

By the way I'm studying petroleum engineering, so if anyone reading this is a top oil and gas executive and can get me a job with a nudge, let me know and I can email you my resume for a full time job next year. : )

Technician. I work on restaurant kitchen appliances.

Nothing really fits, in your poll.

Up until somewhat recently I worked in bicycle shops.

I write software for casinos across the country. It's easy, it pays real well and I work from home frequently, which means it's often easy to sneak out for a 60 - 90 minute ride on a work day. The bosses really only care that the work gets done by deadline.

Superintendent for a Construction Management Company, prior to projects being released for bid I review plans and specifications, do constructability reviews, build project schedules, and put bid package scope of work documents together. After bids are in, review submittals, and fine tune the project schedule with prime contractors.
