Kask Mojito - odd fittig?!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kask Mojito - odd fittig?!

Hi guys,
i need your help. I just got a new Kask Mojito Helmet. There 2 things though that i keep wondering.
First, the straps are not attached to the up-and-down system even though on every photo i saw, it seemed so.
Second, even when i tighten it up very well ( i got the small one ), i can move the helmet up and down. That means, the helmet moves through the pivot points of the up-and-down mechanism. I hope it is clear what i mean.If i could lock the up and down mechanism it would fit perfectly. Now i wonder if i'm the only guy having this problem, as i have found nothing but articles about the great fit of the helmet...i hope that some Mojito wearers can help me.
Thanks,
Max

I think @lsberrios1 was having a similar problem. You might PM him.

Sorry I just realized you have two few posts to send a PM. A little later I will have some time to send him a message for you and ask him to look in on this thread.

Hello Maksi,

It seems like our issues are not the same but there may be quality control issue with these helmets. Mine fits well to the circumference of my head but the straps leave no space between my earlobe and the strap connection on the Y. This means that my earlobes are pushed upwards by the strap. This was not the case with other Kask helmets I've tried here in USA.

Quick question, did you get your helmet in USA? I bought mine in Europe and when I went to the LBS here they told me there was nothing they could do because it was an eurospec and it did not meet safety standards for racing. This helmet is now my wife's helmet although it is the nicest helmet I own being a $300 Kask Vertigo...

that has to be uncomfortable on the earlobes if you wear for a sustained period

It isn't great but I did put in around 3500 miles on this helmet before getting my Giro Synthe. The helmet would be good for somebody who wears a medium on the smaller side. For all I know this helmet is the only Vertigo KOM edition in the united states !

hi lsberrios,
well, that looks odd and uncomfortable... well, i actually live in europe,so i got in europe too...Just think, this is the best forum
hm..strange,that seems like a different problem. i'm really confused. I think i will return it. Was my first helmet bought on the Internet, cause there are no shops which have Kask helmets around here...Guess that's what happens when you do it. I think i will return it and check out some other helmets in a LBS...Maybe someone else has a different explanation. until then..thank you for your help!

Did you order it from Wiggle? That's where I got mine, just trying to see if we can find a common denominator here.

No, i'm sorry. It's from bike24.de a german website. Seems more like unrelated problems...nevertheless-annoying. I have contacted them, and they said the straps are not attached to the up-and-down mechanism. For the rest, they don't know. I'd be very interested if anyone actually still wearing the mojito can tell me how his helmet behaves when put on...
