Tri bars for aero handle bars?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tri bars for aero handle bars?

I just recently bought a set of these aero handle bars and I'm having trouble finding a good set of aero/Tri bars that fit. I can only really find ones that fit normal round handle bars.

These are the ones I have.

any help finding a set of aero/Tri bars would be great.

$80 is really cheap for carbon aero bars.

I hope you're confident they a a good quality before you get out of the saddle on a climb and crank into them.

Most "clip on" tri aero bars i've seen are for round handlebars.

Certain bars are meant to have clip on bars attached. Aero/ergo shaped bars like that are not meant to have clip on bars (especially chinese carbon). To put it simply, it's impossible to find compatible aerobars for what you bought, the shape is unique and nothing on the market will fit them. Also the stem is integrated and will make proper positioning very difficult.

A lot of manufacturers will even specify if clip ons should be used on carbon bars they make.

these are basically the same thing that came on my Venge. I knew the minute I bought it that I probably wouldn't find any tri bars for them.

I'm going to guess tour of Qatar tt stage. None of the teams are permitted to bring tt bikes for logistical reasons.

And a skin suit.

Presumably a mountain TT, especially judging by the gear he's in.

There's any number of reasons to combine aero-bars with drops. My Tri setup is to slam my stem (I have 30mm of spacers normally), clip on the aeros and throw on a set-forward seatpost. The whole switchover takes about 5-10 minutes. I could swap out the drop bars for a pair of bullhorns, but that would mean also rewiring my brakes and gears every time I switched, which would take a good half hour at least, and wouldn't be fun.

Not Qatar. They don't even allow clipons, witness everyone using IABs in the footage of that stage. Also, no reason to not be in the big ring at any point in that stage.

Most likely something similar to Nice/Col d'Eze.

This. Not an uncommon setup for a TT with a lot of climbing (and technical descending), where there are sections that you get the benefit from aerobars, but you want the weight advantage, and handling advantage of a road bike.

And for the OP's benefit, the reason is they're not diesigned for it, and if you rigged something to fit on them you'd be risking catastrophic failure.
