Prevent Wedge Pack from Sliding Down (Thin Seatpost)
Guys, having a brain fart moment and was hoping you guys can recommend some good ideas.
I have an Topeak Aero Medium with the strap/buckle (not the fixer version).
Unfortunately because the synapse has such a thing seatpost at 25.7 I think, the pack ends up sliding down as I ride. Is there anything that is subtle that I can clamp on my seat post to prevent the pack from constantly sliding down? Even if I tighten the strap around the seatpost extra tight, its just a matter of time before it slides down again. Really annoying.

One can buy velcro stapping at places like Home Depot. Or sold as Velcro wire ties. Velcro around the pack and the seat rails will stop it from sliding.
A seat post reflector bracket on the post will probably work too.

I was thinking about putting on the bracket for my cygolite blinker but then realized it would look weird to have the light attached to the pack and then a few inches below, a piece of plastic just jutting out for no reason. I might try the rubberband. Thats not a bad idea.

If the light bracket is two pieces, you could take off the part that holds the light. That will look a little bit better. A stainless steel hose clamp will work too. If you have access to a home store like Home Depot a look around might find you something that looks better and will work. Also if the front strap is just Velcro and the front of the pack hits the post, both are slippery. I have had some success cutting a tube piece that will fit under the straps, and the back of the tube is held onto the pack with double sided carpet tape. Clean the tube on both sides before taping it on. Also clean the seat post and the parts of the bag that touch the post with a clean rag and some windex. I wax my bikes with pledge, and brackets wont clamp anything right until I clean the post off.

Usually those packs attach to the saddle rails and the seatpost loop is just to help stabilize. Can you post a photo of your bag on your bike?

Put the straps on the saddle rails correctly, tighten, and the width of the seatpost will have no effect.

wrap some plastic wrap around the seat post then put the clamp around it.
or cut up an old tube and do the same.

I had a small topeak aero, then some riding buddies straddled my rear wheel while commenting how the pack looks a little "flaccid". That day, I ordered an arundel uno. For a few days, I rode without a pack, and then just two weeks with the uno before I went with jersey pockets.
... Where was I? Oh, yeah, that strap is just to keep it from swinging side to side, it's still gonna hang, unless you tie it up.
