Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

5800 crankset-frame clearance

I'm working on a 1998-vintage Cannondale cross bike that has some MTB-like features in the rear triangle, with a lot of tire clearance and some fat chain stays. I wanted to build it with 5800. I am curious if anyone can tell me what the distance is from bike centerline to the backside of the crank arm for a 5800 crank; or some other alternative measurement that arrives at the equivalent info.
