1983 Nishiki Medalist, 61CM

Nishiki Medalist, 1983 (Serial # KC36581), Seat Tube: I measure 61cm, C-C; Top Tube, measures 57cm, C-C.
I purchased this bike about 2015, looking for a bike that would accommodate my long legs/short torso. While the bike fits, I feel it's a bit too big for me.

Frame is butted Champion No. 1, Tange Industries, handcrafted by Kawamura per the decal.
Standover height: You will need long legs for this one. I measure it right at 34 ˝ inches. It has a few scratches in the paint as one might expect for a bike of this vintage.

Wheels: Araya, 36 spoke rims , 700x25c, on Suntour Sprint hubs. New Conti “Grand Prix Classic” and Michelin butyl tubes. These tires/tubes have just a few miles on them.

RD: Suntour Cyclone MKII with Suntour Symmetric DTS. FD: Suntour Cyclone MKII
Crankset: Sugino AeroMighty, 175mm; 52/42 chainrings. The chain rings appear to be original.

Freewheel is now 7-speed, 13-28 Shimano. I have the original Suntour 13-24 six-speed freewheel which shows a little wear. I just wanted a bailout gear, so I went with the 7-speed. The new freewheel went right on, no redishing of the rear wheel needed. I will supply the original 13-24 freewheel if I get my asking price.

Chain is new, a SRAM 6/7/8 speed with powerlink.

Stem: 100mm Technomic

Headset: Nishiki

Brakes are Suntour Superbe with Koolstop pads. Very few miles on them.

All cables and housings are almost new. I retained the original RD cable housing by easily inserting a contemporary new cable housing inside the original.

Pedals not included.

$375 for the bike as pictured, local pickup (preferred). If I ship, add $100 for CONUS. I live near Cary, NC.
