70's Viscount Aerospace Pro

I recently obtained this gorgeous bit of unusual bicycling history, from the original owner. A 1975? Viscount Aerospace Pro. This Vintage road bike is in near flawless condition! (A time capsule). There's plenty of great information on the Lambert/Viscount marque, that makes for interesting reading for enthusiasts into vintage steel!

The owner "upgraded" a few components from the original set-up:

* Derailleurs, Shifters, Handlebar, Lg. Chainring and "Death Fork."

The frame is measured from center of bottom bracket spindle.

Please feel free to ask for additional info. / pics.

$300

Thanks

Great Bike, I bought one in 1973 or 74. There was a recall on the Forks back in late 70's or early 80's. I got the new Fork and had the bike right up until 4 or 5 years ago. Mine was White with Red accents and all Suntour! It had a very flexing frame.

I fell in love with this bike when I was a teenager - sadly could not stretch my pocket money to buy one then! Good luck with the sale as I am overseas and can't buy this one!

Vike

I bought an Aerospace from a small shop in Lakenheath Village not far from where I was stationed in 78'. I think the shop owner had talked it up because I had to make my way in through a crowd to pick it up. I bet at least fifty people lifted it with a few fingers before I could get on it and take off. Probably the best thing I ever paid too much for in my entire life. It felt alive beneath me and I rode it from one end of the island to the other, crossed the channel and up and down the coast. It got scratched up on the trip back to the states and I couldn't find anyone in central Louisiana willing to paint a titanium frame. One of the painters suggested having it chromed and eventually that's what I did after a good bead blasting. It seemed to take forever but was really only a few days before I went to pick it up. I presented my ticket and the counter guy smiled real big, bent over and sat a gleaming......bmx frame on the counter. I wound up getting the cops involved but it all came to naught. I still miss that bike.

Wow. My first real bike. I won enough races on it to become a cat 2. If I remember correctly I bought it new for $160? Thats in perfect condition. Good luck.
