Not actually selling but looking to trade for either a size larger or for Trek 520. Trade is for frameset only.

Don't have a trade but love the build. What's the tire clearance?

^ thanks, I should probably be running 38s but I have 43s in there. Sometimes I’ll hear some rubbing at the chain stay near bb

I have a Miyata 1000 and run 36 Donnelly's. 38's would work if they are 38's (maybe 39s) . I am impressed you got 43's on. They look big. Wish mine could handle 43's

If you did decide to sell I’d be interested. My miyata 914 could use a partner. Beautiful bike.

Hey, how are you going with this? I'm interested in the frame if you've found a replacement. 58.. just my size. Nice bike. Let me kmow if you want to sell, frame, fork + headset preferably. And love that you're rockin' the triple!

I'm always looking but in the meantime I've managed to find 3 suitable frames - a Shogun tourer from the 80's, a Giant CRX2, and another Giant cross/hybrid of some sort.. Hard rubbish bonanza! The Miyata is interesting but I think a little small. I prefer something with more seat and head tube if possible but I know that's just how some frames were made back in the day. Thanks

So Im interested in a trade but I dont have a trek 520 BUT I do have a Shogun from the 80s and I also have a couple other good bikes (I would have to run down to storage to see what other ones I have left) and if you're interested I may want to do a trade?
I do want to say up front I've been taken advantage of before so I'm very weary about just sending my frame in the mail. If we were to come to some type of deal I would need some type of assurance or maybe you have a store or maybe you would even be willing to allow a background search on one of those websites like www.backgroundcheckrepair.org/ so I can see a little more about you.
I also know this request sounds a little out there so I'm definitely open to recommendations. I just really don't want to b taken again and I feel like in the past I've been really nice and that's why it keeps happening.
I really like the frame, it would actually be for my nephew who is shorter than I and is the perfect size for this.
Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your prior bad experiences. I want to think that that doesn't happen in the bike community, but I guess it happens everywhere.
Having not heard from the OP I went ahead and completed the full tear down and re-build of the bike. I was planning on selling it locally— I am in the SF Bay Area. If you are interested I am happy to post some pics of the bike. If you want to buy it I am happy to do what is needed to get you comfortable with a sale. I would consider a trade but not looking to burn to much cash on shipping etc., was easier to consider when it was just a frame :-)
Best,
Gary
