FS: Klein Quantum Pro Frameset, circa 1999

This aluminum ‘Quantum Pro’ frame is labelled 61 cm frame with a carbon ‘Aeros’ fork. The frame has internal cable routing and comes with internal headset and Klein stem. All this weighs less than 5 lbs. Included are an extra stem cap with spacer, seat post collar and a front derailleur adapter. Cable liners are routed in the frame and taped in place for your convenience when setting up derailleurs and the rear brake. The frame was not ridden much after acquisition. My friend traded something of historical significance with Gary Klein himself and this frame is what my friend received in the deal, that story will be provided to purchaser. There is a dent in the seat tube which was caused by the derailleur adapter and there is a very small shallow dent in the top tube. The paint is in very good condition with a few chips at cable ports, dropouts and a few small ones on the frame tubes. There is a paint chip beginning on the underside of the right chain stay near the BB. BB is standard English, threads in perfect condition. Seat post diameter is 27.2. Asking $550 OBO plus shipping if applicable. Frame located in Portland OR, I’m offering free pick up or delivery within 30 miles. If it has to be shipped, either one of us can arrange that through Bikeflights.

I think this is a bit later than '89. My '89 had a mount on the top of the downtube holding the downtube shifters, which used internal cable routing. This model doesn't even have a location for cable stops, which indicates it was designed for STI. So early 90's would be my guess, maybe later. My Quantum frame from '95 had mounts on the side of the downtube for housing stops, you could run either STI or downtube shifter, they had ditched internal routing at this point.

Thanks Steve B. Typo, should read circa 1999 not 1989. Regards,.

That was an amazing format for its time! Always loved the paint color schemes on the quantum pro.
