I live in AZ too & I'm using tire liners in Gatorskins. If I have a bike lane, I stay as close to the left as possible (thorns love bike lanes).

I think I measured out at about 135 on the Specialized pad. I had a Specialized Avatar saddle, size 143 & it hurt after 30 miles or so. Got an Arione & am a happy camper!
