The backside of the course was a bit sketchy in June, if I remember correctly. However, the last stretch to the finish was freshly paved.

Germantown, MD isn't so bad. You are right ont he border between urban/rural roads. I like living/cycling here. If you wanted something more urban, Bethesda has a cool downtown area.

I really like my Felt F85. I've put about 700 miles on it at the trail end of last season, and it has held up just fine so far. No complaints.

My average speed up by 6 mph from my trek 7.5fx to my felt f85. I am 99% certain it is 50% mental, allowing me to push harder, and 50% the fact I have gotten into shape.

My own Labor Day Report

Decided that I needed to stretch my legs some and get on the bike. Did a route that was ~38.8 miles with 4500ft of climbing. Most of the riding was nice and a good temperature out here in Boulder....

Went to Mt Evans for a ride. Only made it the first 9 miles before I couldn't take the altitude anymore. Sucks living at sea level all your life and then moving out to Colorado, lol.

I know! The LBS was sold out of pedals that I wanted, and they said they would have more in on friday. The discount is worth it to me to wait 2 days to hopefully get the pedals and shoes at a decent...

I was looking for an entry level road bike and found the Felt F85. The MSRP seemed decent at $1100. I purchased one today except my LBS sold it for $899 + 20% accessories. Ignore the crap pedals....
