btw - i think the seatpost is carbon wrapped (if you take the actual seat post out I think you'll find it's aluminum)....at least mine is anyway...

had the same problem (with a new allez, and tiagra FD).
for 1 thing, shifting the front chainring isn't as easy, and second, I had to adjust the limit screws....also, I'm a newb and had to learn not...

Same as everyone is saying...I just got a Specialized Allez Sport with Tiagra, and the shifting wasn't 100% completely smooth (i should have checked that at the LBS)...but I just adjusted the limit...

Okay - so just got a new road bike, as I wanted to get my butt off the couch and start doing something active.

It's an entry level bike with Tiagra components.

Kind of learning about shifting...
