Yeah... Jason dropped me like a hot potato on that descent. That's what caused me to tip the damn ice chest over in my trunk (that last hairpin turn before that long straight descent).

Manufacturers don't put them on... GOOD bike shops will put them on to protect your bike. If you're bike doesn't have them then your paint will rub off leaving your frame looking fugly.
