I'm sure they are very good bikes to ride but I don't like the colors. I think it's too flashy...it has that "hey look at me, I am a racer" look. But thats just my opinion.

it can be done. I also commute to school in a beater cruiser but I don't have very far to ride. I would suggest getting some pannier to put on.

This is probably a minor issue for a recreational cyclist but wouldn't it hold true for racers.
