For rides < 30 - 35 mi I don't tend to do anything special. Anything longer than that and I usually go for a complex carb heavy pre-ride meal.

I find if I wait 20-25 minutes to urinate after the ride, I get no pain. But if my ride is at least 20mi and I fail to wait, it's excruciating.
