Can a wheel be repaired?

A friend hit a pothole with his rear tire. When he got home he noticed that he hit the pothole so hard that it bent the wheel. Can these be straightened/repaired?

Gunk in old Shifters-What to Use to Clean?

Jeff, that was it! The shifter was sticky or stuck. Cables looked good (no rust) and moved freely. The shifter wasn't moving the cable. I can shift now but, have to fine tune the top 2 (large)...
