Can a wheel be repaired?

A friend hit a pothole with his rear tire. When he got home he noticed that he hit the pothole so hard that it bent the wheel. Can these be straightened/repaired?

Gunk in old Shifters-What to Use to Clean?

Any recommendations on a good product to use on shifters that having been sitting for 12 years that have accumulated alot of gunk?

Jeff, that was it! The shifter was sticky or stuck. Cables looked good (no rust) and moved freely. The shifter wasn't moving the cable. I can shift now but, have to fine tune the top 2 (large)...
