After a crash (actually I bought it like this..) - is it possible to bend this lever back or will it snap? It is a Campagnolo lever and is, I assume, forged. At least it works now, so bent...

I know this an old thread but for us vintage folk it's good info. I just bought a 70's Motobecane with this stem, a Nitto Pearl "9" (=90) and it def is long, measures 100 c-to-c.

I look at it and it seems obvious: remove the circlip. But I can't! It won't!
My tool is not as heavy duty as id like but it has a pretty good grip on the clip. It is a close fit but once compressed...
