Wow you're pretty good. I'm actually 5'9". As far as I know my seat height is where it needs to be. My legs are extended almost fully but not locked out when the pedal is at it's lowest position.

I've already got a set of bars so no worries there...they were pretty cheap too and felt the right width...about the width of my shoulders. Stem is only $19 and is regularly $80 so I will try that...

I picked up a set of drop bars over the weekend...I was going for cheap...the cheapest I found online was around $35...got a set at a bike shop for $19..I have no idea exactly what they are...sticker...

Good time for a beginner?

I did my 4th ride today since I've had my bike. Rode 7.2 miles in just over 37 minutes...lots of hills and even had to make a few stops for traffic. Is this a pretty decent time for a beginner?

Yes it will. I broke my left collar bone almost exactly as the OP did...broke in half and had a small piece just floating around. Luckily I didn't need surgery. To this day mine still bothers me...
