when bike arrive at bike shops in the box they do not have the seatpost greased, that is the responsibility of the bike shop to apply. most shops should apply it with a carbon post/carbon frame.

all shift cables for shimano/sram have the same head for mountain and road. the difference lies in the brake cable heads. those are different between mountain and road. i have used the d/a cables...

Bike shops buy 1's and 2's, where as online retailer buy 100-1000's. There is a big difference in the price breaks. You must have never worked retail.
