yes it is part of the headset...i accidentally...

yes it is part of the headset...i accidentally broke that piece while assembling the headset and didn't think it was anything (thought it was part of the packaging at first) until i put everything...

hey gman26...i just bought the same bike and i have a question. is there a little black piece ( a compression ring) that fits right under the spacers in order to tighten properly so there is no play?
