vitus 979 bottom bracket?

68mm english? what spindle size do most run? i've read that too short and chainrings may hit chainstays. any info would be greatly appreciated!

the hubs are campy but no other markings, the front rim is campy omega and rear is a mavic. the seat and seatpost i just replaced... salsa shaft seatpost and san marco regal saddle. stem and bars...

Aluminum frame life?

I have a 99 or 00 specialized m2 setup for my commuting and day to day rides. I took out the suspension fork and replaced it with a surly instigator fork so I'm not sure how much more fatigue that...
