so as I am trying to do this bike on the cheap, I am wondering what you all would suggest for a good road tire that is inexpensive....

I am going to keep the silver rims and spokes and the silver components. If i can get the seat post out i will swap it with a black one and go to black wall tires...I think that will achieve the look...

so the BB is out and is currently being cleaned and getting ready for inspection. so far it looks smooth and clean, no pitts or rust.

they are 27, but if i went to 700C it would still work if the brake pads were adjusted? am I reading that correctly. I may stick with the originals..it depends on how they feel when I get it all done...

noon time update

Ok I was able to cut the old hard as a rock chain off during my lunch break..and sadly the bottom bracket feels pretty rough. not sure if it is better to get a new one or to re pack the current one....
