I seem to remember going to Rhode Gear when they were on Exchange st close to the Civic Center. can anybody confirm this as it was many years ago

im working on one now. it came to me fairly rusty so i swapping out the steel wheels for aluminum and giving it the once over. it looks to be made in the early 80's

Im using Shimano RX100 7 speed down tube shifters. Shimano bar ends works fine too with the flat chromy plastic washer

These shifters are simply Tektro R520 long pull brake levers with a machined piece to add downtube or bar ends shifters. They have a website for their products

early Univega drop bar conversion

My first conversion. Gevenalle 7x3 shifters, mini v brakes, Kenda tires. ride pretty well on pavement. Im taking it on some fire roads tomorrow for the real test

I got the Tandem bug when i bought a minty SChwinn Twinn 5 speed at a yard sale, fixed and up, and ultimately sold it because it was too heavy and rather difficult to move and store
