The cords look fine from the inside of the tire and aren't showing from the outside. I'll post pictures tonight when I get home. I just started a new job and the hours...

76 Peugeot UO-8/UO8 seat tube size and clamp bolt questions

Howdy folks.

So I've got this 76 UO-8 and I love it. It's my baby. Recently I decided I should probably get the rear brake working, even though I almost never use it (just because it's better to...

Yep, they blew off the rim.
I've replaced the wheels with standard clinchers. I didn't realize they were straight walls until after the fact.

One has a few rough spots and is almost perfect -...

Damaged tire bead from Straight-wall wheels. Can I fix it?

Howdy folks. So, long story short, I kept flatting tires because I had straightwall wheels and I'm a clydesdale, so I run 80-100% of max pressure in my 27x1-3/8 tires.

I'm on a budget, and my...

Haha, whoo-oops. I fixed the SAE number but not the metric. I had 27x1-3/8 and changed that, but not the 35 to a 32. Thanks for catching that.

I "cold adjusted" the rear dropout spacing when I put on the 8-speed freewheel (it was fairly easy), so it's closer to 130mm. Won't be a problem anyway, since I'll just readjust it if necessary.

And very frustrating that they list them like that. Hmmm. I don't want the bike to be any lower than it is, but a slightly larger wheel (like a 35 or 40)...

The club roost cross-terra tires I used to run were 27x1-3/8, which is the widest tire size I know of for a 27" tire. At the max inflation pressure for those of 65psi, I was always wanting firmer...

I'd rather have narrower tires for less rolling resistance, which necessitates a higher pressure. The only time I've truly loved the ride on any bike with 27x1-_ is when the tires are over 90 psi....

Hmmm, I'd noticed that before. A 26x2.x" mountain bike carried me around at around 40-50psi no problem. And lower pressures mean slower pressure drop over time (I think).
I'll see if I can actually...

I'm thinking these pasela panaracer tires look good. Wire bead and the 27x1-1/8 says 105psi rated. the 27x1 says 115, but as long as I can get to 90-100, I'm happy.

Meh, they're both straightwalls. I assumed they were hook/clincher beads. This explains why I was getting a bulge around my valve-stem.

The blowout on the rear is about 5" long.

27" tire PSI limits

Howdy all. I'm a clydesdale rider (I weigh 225-230) and sometimes ride with a 20lb backpack to school or around town.

I have a ~1976 Peugeuot UO-8 and I love it. It's got a modern drivetrain on...

Okay.
Standing, my inner ankle to belly button is the same on both sides.
Lying down, however, there is a 1" difference. Left leg longer.
