I've had mine right at the end like that and it's fine as long as you can wrench the bolts down with the chain tight enough. Remove a link the next time you clean your chain and you should be ok

No, I didn't replace the cranks. I just took it all apart, cleaned/greased everything again and put it back together.

I also use blue thread locker on my crank bolts.
