Surprise....the quill stem is non standard.

I'm finding my mental store of sizing for various bike parts does not apply to tandems.

Could I get some advice please. My CoMo Cappucino has a stem quill that I wanted to replace for a higher bar...

If it's in decent shape, sure. Kinda retro, solidly built (overbuilt) not intimidating to non riders (dates). And hey, it's a Schwinn!

Good luck and enjoy.

Tandem Up!

Just picked up our second tandem, this one off of Craigslist. A late nineties Co-Motion Cappacino. I've kinda regretted my decision to buy a flat bar/semi-MTB unit (Cannondale's "Street" model) to...

New to tandeming, we recently bought a Cannondale "Street" (flat bars, 26 inch wheels) in XL/S. I'm 6'2 and stoker is 5'3. Fits pretty well, but as a dedicated roadie the top tube seems kinda low for...

I think the 27's ride a bit better, as they are slightly larger. I run Conti Gatorskins on my old Fuji S.S. and prefer them to 700's on that bike. Unless you are building a flip flop rear wheel, I'd...
