Orbea Dakar V brake to Disc Brake Conversion

Well, I have quite old Orbea Dakar 2012 MTB with V-brakes. I am thinking of conversion to Disc brakes to match 2013 model. Is it possible to do conversion and what should I have to do so?

Just for point 1, the mountain bikes are better for roads especially asphalt ones with lots of bumps and muddy in winter than road bikes?
